Service Description
It starts young. The ways we learn to protect ourselves— the strategies we use to survive situations beyond our control. With time, these strategies become patterns of thinking and moving and feeling that are operating below our level of awareness. And they don't always align with who we are today. I have worked with hundreds of women through the years— each one sharing experiences of initial disconnection from their body, followed by profound joy for their own capacity to reclaim it on their own terms. For a long time now, I have felt called to offer a space specifically for women to compassionately witness the ways that they have learned to take care of themselves — and to discover new sources of strength, ownership and ease in both body and mind. This weekly drop in class is that space. Each Wednesday we meet over Zoom and engage in a 50 minute Awareness Through Movement® lesson, followed by optional discussion. Please prepare a comfortable area for yourself on the floor where you can lie down. Optional items to consider: - A blanket - Something to write with - Garden pads (or small bolster) for head support if needed
