From the outside, in

From any outsider's perspective my acting career was flourishing; but

the playful sense of wonder that drew me to the profession was slowly giving way to higher levels of anxiety that made it hard to have any sense of control over what I was doing on stage or in front of a camera.

My respect and appreciation for the human body came through staying curious about my own limitations.

After receiving my license to practice massage in 2008, I soon realized that my clients were returning with the same issues week after week.

As I listened to them describe the activities that caused them pain, I could see that each individual's unique pattern of tension originated from places deeper than their musculature.

I also sensed the same thing in myself.  The force I was using to 'go deeper' with my massage techniques offered only temporary relief for my clients and was not sustainable for me.

With the intention of bringing strength and flexibility of body and mind into the mix, I immersed myself in the study of yoga and meditation.

One year into my yoga teacher training, I had a full blown epiphany:

It isn't the "what" we do that matters most.  It's the "how".

That is when I fell in love with the human nervous system and the conditions it needs to allow something new in.

I completed a 4 year Feldenkrais® Practitioner Certification in 2022 and am synthesizing my wide palate of experience to assist others in finding greater ease and understanding throughout their own creative process.

The Feldenkrais Method is a practice of learning through movement
